Origin of the word Halloween - by Andreia Silva

Halloween is originating in the English, where is the contraction of two words: Halloween-saint and the final “and en”-the evening or “ All Hallow Eve” which means night of all saints. That is commemorated on the 31th October. The day of witches or Halloween, is celebrated in the evening of 31st October, and arose in the old peoples of the United-Kingdom and Ireland, because they believed that on the eve the day of all saints, the spirits returned to their homes.
